Somtum Der, Thonglor

We have some great condos to rent or to buy in Thonglor at the moment. This has been keeping the Bkkdeluxe foot soldiers rather busy showing properties and working with our owners. Staff dispatches from the front line have alerted us to a new branch of Somtum Der on the corner of Sukhumvit 55 and Thonglor 17.

Those Bangkokians in-the-know might be aware of this cool, modern Issan restaurant down at Saladaeng. Now, there is a branch in Thonglor and we couldn’t be happier. The food is spicy, tasty and served with great zest. And, it is reasonably priced too. Our personal favourite dish is the Tum Pla Dook Foo ( catfish somtum ) but there are plenty of other dishes to whet the appetite. You can check out the Somtum Der back story ‘here‘. The next time one of our Bkkdeluxe agents goes AWOL in Thonglor, my bet is that we will find them hiding in the back of Somtum Der.
